Quick answer: Work out which version is the original. A paper register held at an office is the record; the portal entry is a transcription of it. If the online spelling differs from your paper document, that is usually a transcription to be corrected against the original, not a change to your name. Take a printout of the online entry and the paper document to the office that holds the register, and ask them to compare the two.

Which One Is Wrong
- Start from the paper, because it is the original, and the portal entry was made from it rather than the other way round.
- If the paper is right and the screen is wrong, that is a transcription matter and it is corrected against the register.
- If the paper itself is wrong, that is a different and older problem, and the portal is simply repeating it faithfully.
